My band, C5, are hoping to cover the Doobie Brothers’ Long Train Runnin’ probably at our next gig, so I grabbed a MIDI drumtrack for the song and did a couple of layers of guitar, added the vocal, harmonies, bassline and a guitar solo.
The number was written by singer, guitarist Tom Johnston and featured on the band’s 1973 album The Captain and Me. I must confess I don’t remember Bananarama doing their mock flamenco cover of it in 1991.
