Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus)
Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) NFM 28 Jun 2024, Smithy Fen. Pair photographed from about 180m. Stilts have been seen locally for several years, and perhaps even bred at Northstowe. This pair were not breeding but have stuck around on the Fen for a couple of weeks as of 10 Jul. The ticklist for the patch must be around 168 avian species as of now. -
