Canon camera for astrophotographers

Canon recently launched the EOS 60Da, a version of the pro-sumer 60D digital SLR but fine-tuned for snapping astronomical objects. As such, the camera has a re-worked infrared filter that makes it more sensitive to specific emission frequency associated with nebulae gas clouds in space (656 nm of hydrogen) rather than terrestrial clouds. The 18 megapixel camera takes up where the 8 MP EOS 20Da left off in 2005.
