As part of my ongoing experiments with home recording and amateur sound engineering I’ve recorded an abridged version of the Obadiah Parker cover of Outkast’s 2003 hit Hey Ya. Obadiah Parker is a stage name of Arizona-born singer-songwriter Mat Weddle (b January 3, 1983) while Outkast is André “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton.
My good friend, Canadian RnB singer Natalie Brown had a listen and described it as a “Chill version”, by which I assume she means she enjoyed it.
