“RetroNonoMusic” heard my recent song “Bait and Switch” (remixed by @MonoStone-1) and asked if I’d like to be guest vocalist on one of his songs. Well, how could I turn down such an opportunity? He shared a few of his compositions with me and we agreed that I’d do a new vocal for his song “Jealousy”.
He allowed me to “tweak” his lyrics for the song, so I made them a bit edgier, a little darker, I think, latching on to the line “keep your hands off me”. It’s now called Locked in Jealousy, which alludes in no small way to someone being subjugated, perhaps trapped physically and mentally.
I also couldn’t resist remastering his original track to blend my vocal and harmonies as well as extending the outro to give some space for a funky guitar solo, so I did that too. I think RNM is happy with the final product, he mentioned my vocal sounding like all of his favourite singers combined with Bowie at the top, so that’s quite pleasing. The collaboration along with a video will also appear on his Youtube channel.
