A few British Birds

In no particular order, a few of the birds I have photographed mostly in recent weeks, although some earlier than that. The scientific binomial (what people usually call the Latin name, should be in italics, although that’s only a matter of publishing housestyle which puts all non-native words and phrases into italics. Incidentally, names where it’s simply a double version of the first part, e.g. Carduelis carduelis and Buteo buteo are tautonyms and the species they represent is essentially the generic “type” of that family:
