I’ve adapted some heartfelt and quite emotionally raw lyrics written by my friend Tony Bearpin and built what he felt turned out to be quite a moving a song around them. You can have a listen via my BandCamp page:
The Sunday morning sun shines brightly through my window
My tears are warm as I think of her face
I stare out seeing nothing, feel the tearing of my heart
I stare out seeing nothing, nothing matters now we’re apart
Two magpies appear on my window sill
They bring no joy, only sorrow, still
And the Sunday morning sun shines brightly through my window
My vision clears I have to talk to her, face to face
She stares at me, piercing my very soul
But we hold each other like we’ve grown very old
The Sunday morning gives its way to the night
We’re talking, holding, crying, breaking till the dawn’s first light
We say goodbye and though our kisses numb the pain
It’s brief respite before it all floods back again
Then it’s Monday morning sun shining brightly through my window
My tears are warm as I think of her face
I stare out seeing nothing, feel the tearing of my heart
I stare out seeing nothing, nothing matters now we are apart
