UPDATE: 2014-05-21 Twitter let the negotiations deadline expire without coming to an agreement with SoundCloud, according to Re/code. So…who will buy the service?
Not sure how I feel about this, Twitter has put out its fiscal feelers to see if it can buy the audio service SoundCloud. Now, as you know I use both. Been on Twitter since June 2007 and made a lot of friends there. Similarly with SoundCloud, I’ve been uploading my musical output there since June 2007 (initially guitar instrumentals only, but in the last year or so full-on songs – I’ve even got an album out for goodness’ sake – Wishful Thinking.
I am hoping the merging of these two companies will be a good thing for getting one’s words and one’s music out to a bigger audience, but who knows? It’s not such an odd thing, Yahoo bought flickr, Google bought Youtube, Facebook bought Instagram, etc etc…
