Windows Live Photo Gallery gets RAW format

Windows Live Photo Gallery gets RAW format – One of the things that Microsoft’s Windows Live Photo Gallery was criticized for in the past was lack of digital camera RAW format support. dSLR cameras and even non SLR cameras give their users the option to save photos as RAW, which is important for pros and amateurs alike if you want to get the most out of your camera sensor. The uncompressed RAW image contains all of the information captured by the sensor. In a sense they’re digital negatives rather than JPEG “prints” of the image.

Now, Microsoft has released a Camera Codec Pack for Windows 7 (and Vista) that adds RAW support for more than 120 dSLR cameras.
