A few of us from the bigMouth choir got to attend an inspirational, educational, sensational workshop with world renowned jazz musician and composer Pete Churchill leader of London Vocal Project and to sing with the group at an early evening concert at Great St Mary’s Church, Cambridge, as part of the CamJazzFest 2015.
In the word of Louis Balfour of Fast Show “Jazz Club” fame: “Niiiice”. And, I mean that most affectionately, it was a great day of learning and entertainment. Oh, by the way, we sang Neil Hefti’s L’il Darlin’ as made famous by Count Basie and His Orchestra and the Ray Charles’ number “That Lucky Old Sun”.
And…there was only enough time between workshop and performance for a light lunch and a beer, no Christmas shopping…thankfully…it’s still November!
