Gower or the Gower Peninsula (Welsh: Gwyr or Penrhyn Gwyr) is a peninsula in south Wales, jutting from the coast into the Bristol Channel, and administratively part of the City and County of Swansea. In 1956 Gower became the first area in Britain to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. And a very worthy label that is. Here are a few shots I took on a 2010 trip to Gower.
“If you’ve been watching the recent BBC series Coast, you may recognise some of the sites in our holiday snaps from Gower, South Wales.”
